| Can I get a K2 installed in any of your sabers? |
| |
Before you think you absolutely need to have a K2 LED, please read more about this LED. Many people have the misconception the K2 LED is "where it's at". To cut to the facts, the K2 requires less forward voltage to activate, but requires TWICE AS MUCH current as a LuxV to operate. |
| Can I get a Luxeon V installed into my FX saber? |
| |
No. The power requirements for the LED would fry the sound board. |
| Can I get a Luxeon V LED in my saber? |
| |
No - A Luxeon V's power requirements would fry a MR sound board. |
| Can I just get a new blade if I want to change colors? |
| |
Possibly one of the most frequently asked questions... The blade itself is hollow. The light inside the blade is derived from the LED inside the saber's body. There are no electronics or any other way to control the light color from inside the blade -it simply captures the light so you have a saber instead of a searchlight. =) |
| Can I send you my FX saber and have you upgrade it to an Ultra FX? |
| |
Yes. You can send your ForceFX saber to us and we can convert it for you. We cannot replace any malfunctioning stock sound boards, so if your sound board does not work when it gets here -unless you purchase one of our custom sound boards when we have them available, your saber will be returned to you with its original, non-functional sound board. We convert sabers, we do not perform miracles! |
| Can you convert “EL” sabers? |
| |
Most of the time, we divert EL conversions to some of our affiliated sabersmiths who actually specialize in those. (fx-sabers.com) |
| Can you convert EL sabers like Parks? |
| |
Sorry, we no longer offer conversion services for EL sabers. |
| Can you convert my Force FX saber if my blade is broken, damaged or completely missing? |
| |
Yes. If the sound board still works, you're good to go. If it doesn't, then we might still be able to convert it, but we cannot repair the sound board itself. |
| Do you install mirrors in the tips of your sabers to help with the lighting? |
| |
Mirrors stop the light from passing through the blade tip and do not give the effect of a real blade. We use a semi-transparent film which reflects most of the light, but allows some to pass through. This, along with our specialized film removes the bulbing effect, elminates most of the base flair and provides a consistent light through the entire distance of the blade itself. |
| Do you use the Luxeon III in all of your sabers? |
| |
We use the Luxeon III led in our UltraFX sabers as well as our Stunt series. Our Initiates get a Star O. |
| How do color changing discs work? |
| |
You remove the blade, drop a disc down the blade socket, then replace the blade. Easy! |
| How much brighter is a Luxeon V over a Luxeon III? |
| |
Luxeon V sabers are exceptionally bright, and produce between 60% - 100% more light than its Luxeon III counterparts |
| Is the silver with a color disc as bright as a normal single color? |
| |
No it's not. If it was, we wouldn't sell single colors. The light transmission through a color filter varies from 50% to 85% depending on color. Please do not order the Adegan Silver thinking that the light will be just as bright. We wish it was, but it’s not. In other words -If you want an Adegan Silver blade for its color -go for it. If you want an Adegan Silver blade for the color disks - we highly suggest a different color as you will be disappointed with what you receive. |
| Once I place my order, can I cancel it? |
| |
All cancellations will be subjected to a 20% restocking fee. |
| What are the differences between the stock/stock replacement FX blade and the Stunt blade? |
| |
The stock/stock replacement FX blade can take light to medium dueling against other polycarbonate blades but NOT against any other hardened weapons/objects, etc… |
| What if I have an empty FX hilt? Can you guys make it an UltraFX? |
| |
Sorry, if the hilt you have is completely empty, there's nothing we can do with it. For us to be able to do anything with it, you would need to at least have the internal plastic components. |
| What is your warranty and what does it cover? |
| |
As of July 1st, 2007, we provide a 90 day limited warranty for any failures resulting from defective craftsmanship. That pretty much covers the entire “guts” of all our sabers as well as the construction of our custom sabers. The warranty is not transferable! If a customer sells/trades their saber to someone else, the warranty will not go with it. We keep records of every transaction.
Items covered: FX Saber Conversions: Faulty Luxeon lighting system Faulty internal hardware/wiring Blade tip pop-off and/or blade film quality issue Any faulty non-stock part/process that Ultra Sabers performs as part of the conversion process. Ultra Customs Faulty Luxeon lighting system Faulty internal hardware/wiring Our custom sound board/speaker failure Items NOT covered: FX Saber Conversions: Cosmetic defects from the original vendor’s craftsmanship Stock sound board failure Failure that can be traced to an attempt at overdriving the LED lighting system (This is easy since the sound board will fry before the LED does) Failure that can be identified as obvious physical neglect. (If the saber looks like you were dueling with the opposite end) Water submersion (It's a saber, not a torpedo) Ultra Saber Custom Lightsabers: Any failure that results from customer disassembling their custom saber Wiring failure resulting from “twisted” wires inside the hilt. (Custom sabers only) Water submersion |

| When I purchased my saber from you guys in 2005, it had a lifetime warranty on it. What happens now that your warranty has changed? |
| |
That warranty will be honored as long as you own the saber provided that you can show proof that your saber was purchased prior to August 1st, 2006. |

| Why so few colors for Luxeon V? |
| |
That’s all that the manufacturer offers. We’ve checked into other companies, but the quality and performance just wasn’t there. |
| Will modifying my FX saber void the warranty from Master Replicas? |
| |
Yes. But if we convert it, we will provide a warranty to protect against any failures due to our craftsmanship. |
| Will my blade still grow and retract or have that “scrolling” effect? |
| |
After the conversion, the saber will quickly fade on and fade off in sync with the sounds. Since the LEDs are no longer inside the blade, that dramatic scroll effect is virtually impossible. |
| Will my saber keep its cool sound effects after the conversion? |
| |
Yes. It will keep the power up/down and “whoosh” sounds as well as clashing & idle humming sound. |
